Exquisite Royston turquoise and sterling silver necklace with matching earrings. This special set was designed, crafted, and stamped by renowned Navajo artist, Daryl Becenti.
The Royston turquoise mine produces some incredible stones ranging in color from a deep sky blue to dark greens. Often the colors run together in the same stone with a golden brown mottled or webbed matrix. These unique color ranges are what make this stone so special. Royston is the oldest patented mine in Nevada and is a good producer of high-quality stones.
Native American jewelry artist and silversmith, Darryl Becenti was born in Gallup, NM in 1957 and has been creating his jewelry since approximately 1980. He was largely taught by his brothers-in-law David and Leroy Reeves. Although Darryl Becenti is also a talented sketch artist, painter, and accomplished sand-painter, he is mainly known for his spectacular Navajo jewelry made with the most special turquoise stones.
