Twelve-day Fall Brown Bear Hunt on the Alaska Peninsula with Joey Klutsch of the Katmai Guide Service. The Fall Season runs from October 7-16, 2025. Spring hunts are also a possibility but cost a little more. One of the premier big game experiences in the world, the Brown Bear (Ursus arctos) is considered the ultimate hunting trophy. The largest boars can reach sizes in excess of 10 ft and weigh up to 1,200 lbs or more. The Alaska Peninsula National Wildlife Refuge is home to some of the largest brown bears in the world and supports a very healthy population due to the excellent habitat and massive salmon runs. Taking one of these large male brown bears is one of the greatest challenges and accomplishments one can achieve. The hunting is all spot and stalk, glassing from high points above salmon streams, travel ways, or berry patches. Daylight is short, and most activity is at dusk or early morning. Hunters should be prepared for many hours of waiting and watching for the right bear. When a bear is spotted there may only be minutes to accurately judge plan a stalk, and go after the animal. This is certainly one of the most adrenaline-charged hunts in the world. Included in the hunt are trophy fee for one brown bear, guide, food and comfortable lodging, field prep of trophy, and wolves may be taken at no additional charges. Not Included: Round trip air charter fee, from King Salmon to camp and back: $3000 payable to air charter company on arrival in King Salmon. NR hunting License of $160, NR Brown Bear locking tag for $1000, Hunters Preservation Fund $200 and gratuities at the end of the hunt.
