Lot contains a pre owned real nice Original U.S. WWII M1 Garand 10 inch Bayonet by Union Fork & Hoe with M7 Scabbard. The M1 Garand rifle was first issued with the M1905 16" bayonet. In 1942 the US Military determined that a shorter bayonet was more useful. Existing stocks of M1905 bayonets were cut down to 10". overall length of 14.5" with the release button at the guard and lower portion of the handle. Internet info: on the M7 Scabbard With the introduction of the M1 bayonet in April 1943 and the need for its shorter scabbard, Victory Plastics was given the contract to begin production of the new M7 scabbard. The M7 scabbard also differs from the M3 in that two spring steel plates were inserted in the throat area so that the blade is retained in the scabbard even if not latched by the scabbard hook. These plates were carried over into the M8 and M8A1 scabbards and the later production M1917 scabbards. Meant only to secure the bayonet in the scabbard, they are sometimes called "self sharpening" by those who are not familiar with the system. They are often cursed by collectors as they do mark the sides of the bayonet when it is inserted and withdrawn, creating the dreaded "scabbard wear" that damages an otherwise mint specimen of the bayonet. B/N numbers for the M7 scabbard have been recorded from B 3/4 N to B 4/2 N.

We strongly recommend inspecting items personally or seeking the opinion of a qualified expert. No refunds or returns will be accepted.
3. Firearms Disclaimer: Regarding firearms, we make no warranties or representations concerning their operation, condition, safety, or reliability. The use of any purchased firearm or ammunition is entirely at the user's risk. We recommend having all firearms inspected by a competent gunsmith. We disclaim any liability for accidents, injuries, or damages resulting from the storage or use of firearms or ammunition.
4. Online Bidding Premium: For online and absentee bidders, we will email you a preliminary invoice at the conclusion of the second day of the sale. We may use the last FFL you provided, but if there are changes, please notify us by email. An 18% buyer's premium applies to HiBid, Proxibid, iCollector, and Live Auctioneers, Bidding direct with us is 15%. There is a 3% discount for checks, money orders, and ACH transfers, Wire Transfers are a $30 flat fee. It is your responsibility to contact the valid FFL provider of your choice for the transfer.
5. Compliance with Laws: It is your responsibility to understand and comply with local, state, and federal laws regarding the items you bid on. No refunds or returns will be issued for items that are not allowed in your jurisdiction. All sales are final.
6. Inspection and Responsibility: Bidders who are not present at the live auction understand that they may not have the opportunity to inspect items in person. It is your responsibility to determine the condition, age, authenticity, and value of items before bidding.
7. Internet Bidding: We offer internet bidding as a service, but we do not guarantee its functionality. We are not responsible for missed bids due to technical issues. 8. Auction House's Right: We reserve the right to withdraw or re-catalog items in the auction.
9. Payment: All sales are for cash, cashier's check, local personal check with pre-approval, Visa, MasterCard, Discover Card, or Debit Card. A Credit Card processing fee of 3% will be added to all credit card payments. There will be a $50.00 fee for returned checks or chargebacks.
10. Pickup and Storage: Locals, Items must be paid for and picked up within one week of the sale unless prior arrangements have been made. A late charge and storage fee of $5.00 per day will apply after 14 days. After 60 days, items will be considered abandoned.
11. Shipping: We use FedEx and U.S.P.S. for shipping. Shipping charges include a box fee and required insurance. Small, crated items will be quoted before shipping. We provide in-house shiping and work diligently to keep costs to a minimum.
12. Firearms and Legal Requirements: All firearms must comply with local, federal, and state laws. Out-of-state buyers must have their dealer supply their Federal Firearms License (FFL) before shipping. It is your responsibility to know and comply with your state and local firearm requirements. Have your dealer email their FFL to transfers@brandusedworks.com and make sure they include your name on the email.
13. Liability and Safety: By participating in this auction, you release the seller and Brand Used Works Auction House LLC. and its affiliates from any liability related to the purchase, ownership, possession, use, or misuse of items. All firearms should be inspected by a certified gunsmith before use.
14. Miscellaneous:
