serial #3686812, 30-06, 24'' 4-43 dated Smith Corona four groove barrel with a bright very good bore showing some shallow pitting near the muzzle with strong rifling. The metal surfaces of this arsenal overhauled rifle retain 97% excellent light gray parkerized finish. The straight grip two bolt stock and handguard remain in very good condition with the expected small dings or impact marks showing a circle ''P'' firing proof with ''11'' behind the triggerguard, clear inspection marks with faded but legible boxed ''FJA'', Ordnance wheel and ''R A'' stamp on the left wrist. The rifle is a mix of Remington and Smith Corona parts and functions well mechanically. An attractive example of this typewriter manufacturer turned gun maker in support of the war effort.
