U.S. Model of 1917 Winchester bolt action rifle, .30-06 caliber, Serial #125824. The rifle is in fine overall condition with a 26” import marked barrel. The barrel is Winchester marked, dated 1-18 with a flamingbomb emblem. The rifle retains most of the original military finish. The rifle is solidly stamped with the U.S. eagle on numerous parts including the receiver, bolt, barrel, butt plate and other parts.According to the consigner, there are a total of 34 different component parts stamped with the Winchester “W” for Winchester Repeating Arms Co., including inside the barrel channel of the stock. Additionally, there is a U.S. Ordnance bomb emblem on the left receiver rail. The smooth wood stock is in good condition with dents and mars from service use. There is a red paint band on the fore end and multiple British Broad Arrow property stamps, indicating use as a WWII “Lend Lease” weapon. The buttstock has sling swivels and ends with a smooth steel butt plate with a trap. The bore is fair and the action is crisp on this desirable Winchester
