U.S. Springfield percussion rifle dated 1850, .69 caliber, 42” barrel, full wood stock, flared iron ramrod; “out-of-the-attic” condition, working action, well worn stock with initials “N.D.B” and “18” carved intothe left side of the butt stock; also “J M” on the left side of stock above the trigger guard; fascinating hand written note provided by the consignor stating “The famous Yankee rifle of the War Between the States (never,if a Southerner, call it Civil War). When Yankee soldiers were quartered at the Howard home during the War somehow this gun was left behind. Whose initials are carved upon the handle? We do not know. Shipping can take up to 6-8 weeks. Buyer pays all packing, material, handling, shipping costs and insurance. International Shipments will be sent to an exporter and buyer agrees to pay all costs incurred including all shipping costs, insurance, exporter fees and all custom & applicable duty fees.
Post 1898 firearms must be shipped to a Federal Firearms Licensee in your place of residence. All Federal, State and Local Registration and Regulations apply and must be strictly followed.
