ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 45 Colt. S# 80543. Bbl. 24 1/4". Model 1866 "Yellowboy" lever action rifle, mfg. in Italy by Uberti and imported by Cimarron Firearms in 2000. Top flat of the octagonal bbl. is marked with Cimarron's importer information above, "-KING'S IMPROVEMENT PATENTED MARCH 29.1866. OCTOBER 16.1860.-", with the cal. designation marked at the breech. Underside of the receiver is marked with Uberti's catalog number, "CAT.6796", followed by a boxed "BN" (2000) date code, "A. UBERTI MADE IN ITALY", as well as the S#. Brass receiver, forend nosecap, and buttplate, with blued bbl., mag. tube, and trigger. Lever and hammer exhibit a case-color-hardened finish. Plain walnut straight grip buttstock and forend. Dovetailed factory blade front sight with brass plate on rear face, with W.F. Sheard large "U" rear sight. CONDITION: Brass components exhibit a mild patina, with scattered spots of discoloration and verdigris present overall. Top flat of the receiver exhibits scattered nicks overall. Blued components retain bountiful amounts of their factory finish, exhibiting some superficial handling marks. Case color-hardened components retain the majority of their factory finish, with some fading and a couple small spots of oxidation present on the lever. Mirror bore, exhibiting strong rifling throughout. Walnut furniture shows scattered marks and minor impressions from handling and storage but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. (24-1447/MLW).
