A Cape buffalo hunt is an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! We thank Guy and Hanna Whittall, of Roger Whittall Safaris, for this great 7 day Cape buffalo hunt on the famous Humani Ranch in Zimbabwe. This ranch of some 150,000 acres, is located in the Save Valley Conservancy, and was converted from a working ranch by the vision of Guy’s father Roger Whittall. The Save Valley Conservancy of 800,000 acres, and is now one of the great free range hunting areas in Africa. SCI Calgary is grateful to have received this donation.
The donation includes accommodation, meals and beverages at their lodge, and a guide (1x1) with tracker and skinner for seven days to hunt your hard bossed Cape buffalo bull. The trophy fee for the buffalo is included in the donation, along with field preparation of your trophy. This is either a rifle or muzzle-loader hunt and you may add other big game as you prefer as there are many in the area to choose from. The hunt is for 2018 and it is Guy’s preference the trip take place in either September or October of 2018. Activities for non-hunters include rhino tracking, game drives and walks, bird-watching, fishing and horse-riding.
Other costs are $600 to cover the dipping and packing of trophies. Usual transportation from the Harare international airport is by road and cost is $1200 for the round trip. There is a 2% government tax on trophy fees ($100 for the Cape plus any other animals), a rifle import permit cost, and the hunting license at $310. The trip can be extended to 10 days at the reduced rate of $550/day for the three extra days (plus $56/day for VAT, 2% govt levy on daily rate and Conservation fee), and observers can join at $300/day, and as a bonus observers can also hunt some plains game at that same day rate. The other cost for the hunter is a $310 fee to cover the government levies and VAT on the donated day rate for the initial 7 days. (All are US$)
The exclusive Save Valley is to be experienced at least once in your life, and this donation cannot be missed on one of the best hunting concessions in Zimbabwe. This concession has all five species of dangerous game including monster leopards, exceptional spiral horn trophy specimens, and an abundance of plains game animals.
