VERY EARLY BROWNING GRADE 1 SUPERPOSED SHOTGUN.

Cal. 12 Ga. 2 3/4". S# 1304 (Mfg. 1931). This gun was made during the first year of production for the superposed & has 32" bbls. w/ raised matted ventilated rib engraved "BrowninG" "Superposed" & are marked for IC & modified chokes. Blued action w/ single selective trigger & non automatic safety is unmarked on frame which does have sm. scroll border engraving. Long tang, rnd. knob buttstock of lightly streaked & figured European walnut measures 15" over tan leather covered pad on 1 3/8" figured American walnut extension. Point pattern checkering is at grip. Full one piece forend w/ flat steel tip matches well. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Bore Diameter: T .725", B .724". Restriction: T .016" (MOD), B .006" (IC). Min. Wall Thickness: T .030", B .032". STOCK: DAH: 2 3/16". DAC: 1 5/8". LOP: 15". CAST: neutral. WEIGHT: 7 lb. 15 oz. CONDITION: very fine as refinished. Metal parts retain nearly all of a careful reblue w/ some very minor sharp edge wear. Stocks w/ essentially all of a hand rubbed oil finish. Checkering recut. Pad & extension are relatively new. Bores are bright & shiny. Action is tight. Mechanically good. (22-1848/MGM). CURIO. $800-1,000.
