VERY INTERESTING GROUPING OF WWI US MILITARY

KNIVES.
1) Model 1904 Hospital Corps Knife. 12" Rounded Point blade marked on left ricasso w/ date 1904, marked on right ricasso w/ US. "S" shaped brass guard. 2 Piece walnut handle w/ finger grips. Brown leather scabbard w/ leather belt loop. Scabbard has brass throat w/ brown lacquer finish. Markings on back of belt loop have T.C. 1904 & partially legible arsenal marking. CONDITION: blade has clean appearance w/ scattered fine pitting throughout. Crossguard has wear & handling marks w/ pleasing patina. Original finish walnut grip, has light wear & handling marks. Leather scabbard has wear & handling marks. Stitching is tight.
2) Model 1917 Bolo w/ 10 1/4" blade. Black finished blade marked on left ricasso "PLUMB PHILA. 1918". Marked on right ricasso "U.S. M.O.D. 1917". Straight steel crossguard. Left turned walnut grips. Type II scabbard stamped sheet steel painted OD. Russet leather strap w/ belt hook. Scabbard marked "U.S. L.F&C.-1918". CONDITION: metal parts retain a very lg. degree of black finish w/ light handling marks & sm. spots of missing finish. Grips have lightly worn appearance. Scabbard retains 80% OD finish. Belt attachment has tight stitching.
3) Model 1917 Bolo 10 1/4" blade. Marked on left ricasso "PLUMB PHILA 1918". Marked on right ricasso "U.S. M.O.D. 1917". Steel crossguard. Rough turned walnut grips. Canvas scabbard w/ leather tip marked "BRAUER BROS. 1918". Scabbard is attached to 10 pocket khaki ammunition belt WWI period w/ illegible marking. Pockets made w/out charger retaining straps. CONDITION: metal parts of knife show light wear, oxidation & fine pitting throughout. Retaining approx. 70% of original finish. Grips have light wear & handling marks. Scabbard & belt have light wear & staining w/ tight stitching.
4) Model 1917-18 Trench Knife. 9" triangular blade. Steel cross guard is bent to form knuckle bow. Knuckle bow marked inside "ACCO U.S.A. 1917". Smooth walnut grip w/ finger grooves. Metal tip green leather scabbard w/ belt hook. Scabbard marked "Jewelled 1918". CONDITION: blade has worn original blue finish. Balance of metal has original blackened finish w/ light wear & oxidation. Grips have light wear & handling marks. Scabbard has light wear. Metal parts turning patina.
5) Model 1917-18 Trench Knife. 9 1/8" Triangular blued steel blade. Steel crossguard forms knuckle bow w/ pyramidal knobs. Front of guard marked "U.S. L.F&C. 1917". Smooth walnut grip w/ finger grooves. Green leather scabbard w/ metal tips & belt hook. CONDITION: blade has light wear & handling marks. Original blue finish. Guard has thinning lightly worn black finish. Grips have light wear & handling marks. Scabbard is lightly worn. Metal parts turning patina. PROVENANCE: Collection of Brian C. Pinkerton.
