GUNSMITH JUDSON BAILEY. Cal. 6.5x55. S# 25400. Bbl. 22 1/8". Very well-executed custom sporting rifle using a Mexican Model 1910 Mauser action. The receiver has a small ring but uses the Model 98 type bolt with the third safety lug. Bbl. is marked on the right side "THE WORKSHOP / ST. ALBANS, MAINE." Marked on right side with "6.5x55." Rifle is fitted with Weaver-type bases along with a Bausch & Lomb BALVAR gloss black 1.5-6 power telescopic sight having a 1" tube and duplex reticle. Black Bausch & Lomb scope caps. No iron sights are fitted. Bolt is fitted with Buehler safety. Single-stage sporting trigger with light, crisp pull. Trigger guard bow has been reshaped to a pleasing profile. Mr. Bailey is noted for his well-executed, handcrafted stocks. This fiddleback maple example has a Monte Carlo comb with raised cheekpiece. Black forend tip. Steel grip cap. Black ventilated recoil pad. Q.D. swivel studs. CONDITION: stock is in very nice condition with very light wear and a few small scattered handling marks. Notable tiny raised chip at rear swivel stud. Metal retains nearly all of its professional blue finish with very light high-point wear. Scope optics are clear and serviceable. Very good, shiny bore with sharp lands. (24-5302/RW).
