Very rare Colt Sheriff’s Model Single Action revolver, factory engraved, .44-40, 4” barrel, old re-nickel finish, two-piece pearl grips, S/N 84244, matching visible numbers, in overall very good condition displaying the majority of its old re-finish, crisp action, sharp engraving and markings, beautifully iridescent pearl grips and pictured in the Book of Colt Engraving by Sutherland & R.L. Wilson on page 252, which also statescaliber, engraving as a standard pattern, nickel finish and pearl grips with further notation as shipped to G.L. Wild & Bro., March 1883 (however, no separate factory letter accompanies this lot). Also, according to Wilkerson and Hoyt’s book “The Official Record Colt Single Action Army Revolver, 1873-1895”, page 339, only one engraved .44-40 caliber revolver without ejector, nickel finished and with a 4” barrel wasreported in the archives records between serial #1-164,100. Shipping can take up to 6-8 weeks. Buyer pays all packing, material, handling, shipping costs and insurance. International Shipments will be sent to an exporter and buyer agrees to pay all costs incurred including all shipping costs, insurance, exporter fees and all custom & applicable duty fees.
