Vintage French Uniform Lot
Three Total. 1) Vintage French Foreign Legion tunic. Believe late 19th, early 20th century. Blue wool construction with red collar, red epaulets, seven front buttons, two cuff buttons, six rear buttons, and two epaulet buttons, all marked "Etrangere Legion". One cuff button missing. Overall very good condition. 2) French 118th Infantry Regiment tunic, again believe late 19th, early 20th century. This regiment was one of the most famous and elite of all of the French Line regiments and was thus nicknamed "the Brave." They distinguished themselves in action at both Aspern Essling and Borodino in addition to 36 other engagements. Poor condition, white collar with embroidered "118", and flaming bomb buttons, collar is moth eaten. Three stripes on sleeve, blue wool is stained, and has moth nips. missing buttons, with three newer replaced flaming bomb buttons in in back. Still a very famous regiment. 3) 19th century French Artillery coat, blue wool with red trim, collar, & cuffs. White "flaming bombs" on collar, the buttons have been replaced, a mixture of eagle, and "P". We don't believe the epaulets are original to this coat. Original, but probably used as a movie prop at some point as this comes from the Joe Musso collection. Overall good with some minor moth damage. Ink stamps in liner, including a unit stamp.
