W.M. Large Kentucky flintlock rifle, approximately .42 caliber. The rifle is good overall condition with 40 ¼” octagon barrel. The barrel is entirely brown patina with a brass knife blade front sight and filled dovetail at the rear. Therifle includes brass trigger guards and a double set trigger. The barrel is marked, “W. M. Large”. William Large was a well-known maker of high quality barrels and muzzleloaders from the 1950’s well into the 80’s. This particular rifle is ahigh quality Kentucky rifle from the 1950’s. The smooth wood stock is crafted of beautiful tiger striped maple and completed with brass patch box and butt plate. The stock is in very good condition with ram rod and a metal star inlaidinto the cheek piece. A beautiful, handmade Kentucky rifle by a well known maker. Est.: $500-$1,000.
