MADE FOR GIANOBERTO LUPI. Cal. 12 Ga. 2-3/4". S# 5274 (1974). The 28-1/2" chopper lump barrels with slightly raised matted game rib are engraved with steel type and maker's name on tops. Top of left barrel is also engraved "COSTRUITO PER GIANOBERTO LUPI". Mr. Lupi was a well known pigeon shooter and author during the 1970's. He favored hammer guns and had a fair number of custom guns made for him. Barrel flats are stamped with 1974 Italian nitro proofs for 2-3/4" chambers. Coin finished top lever action is filed in traditional manner and has front spring locks with high spurred serpentine rebounding hammers. Action is engraved with about 70% coverage traditional rose and scroll. Maker's name and address is on arched banner on bottom of action. Front trigger is articulated. Scroll engraved trigger guard has S# on tang. Dramatically marbled European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 15-1/2" over checkered wood butt on 1-1/2" beautifully disguised extension. Stock features classic drop points and point pattern checkering on diamond hand. Matching long splinter forend with Anson release has gold inlaid figure of Neptune in central diamond.
