OR PIGEON GUN WITH BEAVERTAIL FOREND. Cal. 12 Ga. 3". S# 14619 (1890). The 29 5/8" dovetailed steel bbls. are fitted with flat matted rib holding two white beads. Rib is engraved "WESTLEY RICHARDS "170 NEW BOND, LONDON." "HIGHEST QUALITY." Bbl. flats are stamped with Birmingham black powder proofs and later Birmingham reproofs for 2 3/4" chambers. Casehardened Anson and Deeley patent boxlock action (use number 10209) features double under lug and Westley Richards unique sliding 3rd fastener, which engages doll's head rib extension. Action also features nonautomatic safety ("SAFE" in gold) and double triggers. Watertable is also marked "DEELEY'S PATENT EJECTOR" with use number "1705". Action is engraved with 80% coverage well cut shaded scroll within scroll and geometric borders. "WESTLEY RICHARDS" is in scroll terminated ribands on each side. Top of action in front of top lever pivot is engraved "WESTLEY RICHARDS" "PATENT EJECTOR" "HIGHEST QUALITY". Blued top lever, floorplate, and trigger guard are engraved with matching scroll. Trigger guard has scene of running rabbit on bow and serial number on tang. Capped pistol grip buttstock of dense American walnut has some light quilted figure, and measures 14 7/8" over thin black "OLD ENGLISH" pad. Stock features drop points, closely spaced point pattern checkering at grip, ebony grip cap and a gold oval on toe line engraved "M.J.B." Matching long beavertail Deeley ejector forend has Deeley release. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS.: Bore Diameter: R: .735", L: .735". Restrictions: R: .007" (IC), L: .011" (LIGHT MOD). Minimum Wall Thickness: R: .030", L: .031". STOCK: DAH: 2 1/4". DAC: 1 3/8". CAST: neutral. LOP: 14 7/8". WEIGHT: 7 lbs. 15 oz. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: green ABS carrying case lined in green velvet with combination lock. CONDITION: very good as refurbished sometime ago. Bbls. retaining most of their reblack probably done at time of reproof over some scattered marks. Matting on rib is considerably softened. Action retains most of what appears to be its original color but is most likely an older recolor. Top lever, floorplate and trigger guard retain most of their reblue. Engraving still clear. Newer stocks retain most of their original oil finish; checkering slightly worn. Pad is relatively new. Bores are bright and shiny. There is evidence of dent removal in both bbls. 10" from muzzles. Forcing cones have been extended along with chamber lengthening. Action is tight. Bbls. are on face. Ejectors are in time. Forend does not latch tightly to bbls. Case is good. (01-20825/MGM).
