Nevada Heritage Tag for Desert Bighorn Sheep species: The harvest of trophy desert bighorn rams in Nevada has never been better than now. The 2013
hunting season was record setting with the most rams ever harvested at 251 rams and 19 rams
scoring 170+ B&C from 7 different units, the most ever in a single season! A 182 B&C class ram
has been harvested in each of the last 3 seasons! NBU is extremely proud to offer this
prestigious desert bighorn tag at our Annual Banquet. NBU has been a leader in bighorn
conservation and has worked side by side with the Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) to
restore more desert bighorn sheep than any other state or region in North America. Nevada is home
to almost 9,000 desert bighorn sheep! 100% of the bid amount directly goes to NDOW to support
the world’s most successful bighorn restoration program. The 2014 Desert (Nelson) Bighorn
Heritage Tag bidder will be able to hunt the longest season ever from July 1, 2014 – February 28,
2015 except for the seasons in Units 252, and 280 – 282 which will be the standard 2014 season
dates as established by the Nevada Wildlife Commission. This tag is good for all 52 open desert
bighorn units except Unit 253 (the unit where the 2013 Heritage tag holders harvested their rams).This hunt will be subject to a 3% surcharge if paid by credit card.
