WITH FACTORY LETTER. Cal. 22 Short. S# 270936. Bbl. 24" with M1890 sporting sights. Action and buttplate have nickel finish. Bbl. & mag tube are blued. Very late 2nd model with mortised breech block. Grooved forend & straight grip walnut stock. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Cody firearms Museum letter stating the following; "22 S caliber / Sights: Old Style / Nickel trim / Received in warehouse on April 9, 1906 / Shipped from warehouse on April 9, 1906, order number 270936 / Repair & return on February 12, 1907". CONDITION: action retains over 90% nickel. Buttplate has much of the nickel finish showing scattered spots of loss. Original bbl. & mag. tube blue shows wear and fading to brown. Original wood finish shows light wear and scattered handling marks. Lightly pitted bore has largely intact rifling. (22-1865/DS). CURIO. $2,000-3,000.
