100TH ANNIVERSARY LEVER ACTION SADDLE RING CARBINE WITH MATCHING FACTORY BOX & ACCESSORIES. Cal. 44-40. S# JW100H2829. Bbl. 18 ½” Model 1892 High Grade John Wayne 100th Anniversary Limited Edition lever action saddle ring carbine mfg. in Japan by Miroku, imported by BACO Inc., and retailed by Winchester. The top of the rnd. bbl. is marked with John Wayne's signature, with the model and cal. designations on the left, and Miroku's mfg. and BACO's importer information marked on the right. Left side of receiver features scroll engraving, with John Wayne atop a horse, followed by "1907", "JOHN WAYNE AMERICAN, "2007" within a banner, and a portrait of John Wayne. Right side of receiver features matching scroll engraving and is marked with another portrait of John Wayne, followed by "COURAGE", "STRENGTH, and "GRIT" within a banner, followed by "JW" between "JOHN WAYNE" and "CENTENNIAL" banners. Sides of the enlarged loop lever feature light scroll engraving. Upper receiver tang is marked with the Winchester trademark logo above "MODEL 1892". Receiver, lever, and bbl. bands exhibit a polished finish, with the bbl., mag. tube, saddle ring, hammer, trigger, and buttplate exhibiting a blue finish. Smooth wood straight grip buttstock and forend. Right side of buttstock is inlaid with a John Wayne commemorative medallion. Brass blade front sight with ladder rear sight. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: matching factory box with commemorative sleeve, as well as 3 50-rd. boxes of Winchester John Wayne 100 Year anniversary 44-40 200 grain soft point ammunition. CONDITION: near new, with metal components retaining virtually all of their original factory finishes overall. Brilliant mirror bore, exhibiting well defined rifling throughout. Wood furniture is excellent. Box and sleeve exhibit some mild wear, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. Ammunition boxes exhibit scattered superficial marks from handling and storage, with 1 appearing to have been dropped on its end and showing creasing. (24-1184/MLW). MODERN. $1,000-1,500.
