ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 303 Brit. S# G5805. # matches on receiver, rear sight and bayonet lug. Bbl. 25". Tangent rear sight graduated to 2000 yards. Blade front sight with protective ears. Receiver is marked on left side of butt socket "CROWN GR/ ENFIELD/ 1914/ SHTLE/ III". Marked on lower left side "F broad arrow R/ 1932" indicating a factory repair in India. Magazine cut off is present. Nose cap has bayonet lug and stacking swivel. Walnut stock set. Buttstock w/ brass trap buttplate is marked on top "S". The right side has encircled "I arrow SA" Indian independence marking. Unmarked brass disk. Both sides have oriental characters in yellowing white paint. Correct unmarked brown leather sling. MAGS: 1-10 rd. detachable. UNNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Model 1907 bayonet w/ 17" fullered blade. Marked on right ricasso "1907 SANDERSON". Right ricasso has view marks "23 broad arrow and X". Smooth Walnut grips secured by 2 screws. Unmarked black leather scabbard with metal throat and tip. Bayonet has moderate wear turning grey and patina. Scabbard has wear scuffing and staining. CONDITION: stock set has the expected wear, staining and handling marks from long hard service. The metal is turning grey and patina with moderate wear.
