SERIAL NUMBER: 2354539. BARREL: 18". CALIBER: .30 CARBINE. MANUFACTURED: 1943. Made in the second serial block assigned to Underwood. No import marks found. Underwood barrel is dated "3-44", and has a firing proof "P" under that. Type II flat bolt is marked "U" on the side. Type 1 slide is Underwood production. Trigger group, hammer and magazine release are all Underwood production. Underwood front sight and two position flip rear. Type 1 front band is unmarked. Both the two rivet hand guard and the oval sling cut stock are marked "M-U" for Marlin Firearms, who was a contractor for Underwood. Metal components were re-parkerized at some point. Stock was sanded at some point. Faint circled "P" firing proof on the wrist. Includes a blued steel 15 round metal magazine, which is Saginaw production. CONDITION: Metal components are very good overall, with light wear. The right side of the frame has some cleaned pitting around the bolt hold open slot. Wood has minor dings, scratches and dents. Bore is shiny with crisp rifling. Mechanically fine. Magazine has light finish wear. C&R
