Lot of shako, jacket, trousers, sword knot and false collar.. This is the strange case of an Austrian Officer Shako made in Lalbach, Austria will an American Eagle and cap badge with "VSD". The shako is very well made and well marked on the inside. The exterior is an Austrian Infantry Officer design. The uniform is late 19th-Early 20th Century dark blue frock coat with silver US eagle buttons. The trousers are very old USMC dress Blue with washed out spec tag and some moth spots. The red collar was added and Austro-Hungarian Army rank celluloid stars are sewn on. Has Armstrong Uniform Company of Chicago label with size and owner's name. Comes with Austrian sword knot with no strap and broken celluloid false collar. The estate's family was from present day Slovenia in the old country. Shako shows use and some wear. The jacket/coat is in good condition with no mothing. The Austrian stars are loose and cracked. This is a surprising uniform and shako group.
