This interesting cape is a regulation WWI full-length Italian officer's cape. It is a light blue/gray in color with a silver star on each side of the collar. The bronze-colored cape pin at the top features two roundels with a lion's head motif connected by a chain. It is quite interesting to note that this cape came from an estate in Tennessee and actually would be the perfect color for use by a Confederate veteran in the UCV, though we cannot substantiate this. CONDITION: cape remains quite strong with solid stitching and very minor insect damage. There is some wear around the front of the collar where the cape pins attach. (02-23605/BF). $200-400.
