This dagger measures 16" overall with a plain blade marked "ORIGINAL (squirrel) Eickhorn SOLINGEN." Aluminum crossguard with a winged railroad wheel on the front and a round pommel showing a raised medial ridge and a mobile Party symbol on the top. Black composite grip. This 2nd Model railroad dagger has a 1st Model railroad dagger scabbard, which fits exceptionally well. It is possible that a railroad official of minimal means purchased a new regulation dagger, but in order to save money, they used the scabbard off his old 1st Model dagger. It is, of course, also possible that the scabbard could have been married to the dagger in the post-war period. CONDITION: blade shows scabbard wear only. Hilt shows light wear, as does the scabbard. (02-23869/BF). $1,200-1,600.
