WWII GERMAN CAPTURED DAF BANNER & SOLDIER ARTWORK.

This group includes a one-sided banner of standard DAF design and measures 54” squared. The center features a printed black cogwheel with central party symbol on a sewn white cogwheel backing. The body of the banner is red and has 3” white fringe at the bottom. The central device was signed by several members of the 893rd Tank Destroyer Battalion presumably when the flag was captured in Germany. The signatures are in blue ink and appear to be mostly by the same pen. Accompanying the flag is a 10 3/4" x 8 1/4" small painting of Interment Camp 93 at Schwarzenborn, Germany, along with American flags & insignia of the 893rd Tank Destroyer Battalion. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: several pages of information on the 893rd and its members. CONDITION: flag & signatures have faded a bit with age, but remain quite legible. There is scattered staining and a few holes from wear. The painting has yellowed a bit, but colors remain crisp & vibrant. (02-19455/BF). $1,000-1,600.
