WWII GERMAN SS UNIFORM COAT, PANTS, HAT & BELT

BELONGING TO DOCTOR JOHANNES MEYER, GENERAL OF THE WAFFEN SS & LIEUTENANT GENERAL OF THE POLICE. Uniform coat is a fine field green wool gabardine with aluminum pebble finished buttons. There are 7 loops to support a medal bar above the left breast pocket with additional loops on, & below the pocket to support at least 6 other award badges. Shoulder boards are woven gold & silver bullion braid with a single pip & buff pink backing. The dark green collar has black velvet collar tabs piped with silver bullion showing 3 oak leaves & 1 pip denoting the rank of Lieutenant General in the SS. On the upper section of the left sleeve is a heavy silver bullion SS eagle on black sewn to the arm. The lining is a green rayon & the sleeves have a white cotton lining with a dark maroon striped design. There is an interior strap with a dagger or sword hanger clip marked, “DRGM” in a rectangle. The inside left breast pocket has a sewn in tag that reads, “JOSEF ANDRYSEK WEIN IV - 50 FAVORITENSTRASSE 29”. The bottom half of the printed tag is filled in with pen & reads, “Herrn [DR. J MEYER](written in script) NR.[397820](written) 19[45](written)”.The uniform pants are a heavier gray wool gabardine with light gray piping & dual 1 1/2" light gray stripes down the outside of each leg. The interior waistband is a fine cotton with black striped decoration. The insides of the pockets are coarse white cotton. The riding style britches have 4 closure buttons extending up 9 1/2" from the hem. The fly is a 3 button closure with a 2 piece metal clip. The visor cap has a deep sage green wool crown with a black velvet band. The cap is piped entirely in metallic silver bullion. The chinstrap is constructed of silver bullion & terminated with 2 sm. aluminum pebbled finish buttons. The eagle has a silver finish with a somewhat mottled patina. The death’s head device also has a silver finish & sports a uniform dark patina. Hat features a fine black composite visor with a gray underside & a gray sweatband with ventilation holes in the front & a tie at the rear. The lining material appears to be a cream colored rayon with a rounded top, diamond shaped sweatshield. Under the sweatshield is printed, “Carl Schweitzer DORTMUND Bruckstrasse 4 Stirndruckfrei”. Also included is a fine quality SS officer’s belt featuring alternating oak leaves & SS runes in silver bullion with 2 narrow black lines at the top & bottom on the outside of the belt. The inside of the belt is green velvet. The buckle is of standard police design with a central Party symbol & “Gott mit uns” above. Both the buckle & the keeper are aluminum. The reverse of the buckle is marked, “D.R.G.M. 257/41”. Generalleutnant Johannes Meyer held Party Nr. 2 176 339 & was promoted to the rank of SS Gruppenfuhrer & Generalleutnant der Polizei on April 20, 1944. He was appointed to the Hauptant of the Ordnungspolizei & General Inspector of the Schutzpolizei at the time of his promotion. Meyer was awarded the SS Honor sword & SS Honor ring for service. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: copies of information relating to General Meyer. Modern boots, shirt & suspenders used for display purposes only. CONDITION: coat shows a few scattered moth holes but is very solid & visually impressive. Pants show light wear overall. Visor cap shows very light wear overall as does the belt.
