WWII Japanese Type 14 Nambu Semi-Automatic Pistol, with Holster & 2 Magazines, #85630, 8mm Nambu cal., 4.75" barrel, blued finish, all visible numbers matching, Toriimatsu factory of Nagoya Arsenal proof marks, dated Showa 18.8 (August 1943), large trigger guard, drift adjustable inverted "V" front sight, integral fixed rear sight with square notch, early type knurled cocking knob, and lanyard loop. Grooved mahogany wood grips are numbered to the gun and includes one matching number blued steel magazine with pot metal base and one non-matching nickel-plated magazine with aluminum base. In a rubberized canvas hard shell holster with shoulder strap, with extra firing pin and cleaning rod. Condition is excellent retaining approx. 97% original blued finish, with very slight holster wear at the muzzle and bottom of barrel, two small wear lines on the trigger guard, slight wear lines at rear of slide from firing, a couple of tiny scratches, and high edgewear on the right side of the slide, and the typical half-moon scratches around the safety lever area. The matching blued magazine is excellent showing a few light wear lines from use and light oxidation to the base. The nickel magazine shows light wear, thinning to the plated surface, and a few small rust stains; base shows soiling and a few small dings. (This nickel magazine does not go all the way into the gun, as it has the early style catch notch. The gun uses the later style mag with the square catch notch.) Action, hold open, and safety all function properly; bore is bright and shiny. Left grip is very good with only one tiny ding; right grip has a large gouge near the bottom and a small ding. Grip screws are mint. Holster is in good condition with some wear on the leather hinge for the top clamshell cover, overall stiffness to the body and component parts, some separation to the laminations on the shoulder strap; extra firing pin in its pouch is very tight and has a blued cleaning rod inside. There is some soiling, scuffs, scratches, and wear to the outside of the holster, and minor cracking to the leather retaining tab. A very small name has been inked out on the inside of the clamshell lid. Overall, an excellent example in very nice condition. Est.: $800-$1,100. (C&R/PPT)
