WWII Japanese Type 14 Nambu Semi-Automatic Pistol, with Holster & 2 Matching Magazines, #68171, 8mm Nambu cal., 4.75" barrel, blued finish, all visible numbers matching, Toriimatsu factory of Nagoya Arsenal proof marks, dated Showa 20.2 (February 1945), large trigger guard, drift adjustable inverted "V" front sight, integral fixed rear sight with square notch, coarse knurled cocking knob, and lanyard loop. Smooth mahogany wood grips are numbered to the gun, with two matching numbered blued steel magazines with pot metal bases. Includes a rubberized canvas hard shell holster with shoulder strap, extra firing pin, and cleaning rod. Condition is excellent, retaining approx. 90% original late-war blued finish, with slight holster wear at the muzzle sides and bottom front of barrel, high edges and rear of the slide, front edge of the trigger guard, top of slide from firing, typical half-moon scratch around the safety lever area on side of slide, front and rear grip straps are thinning slightly with a light freckling. Action, hold open, and safety all function properly; bore is bright and shiny. Grips are very nice showing only the slightest use; grip screws show some wear, with clean slots. Magazines show thinning and wear from use, with heavy freckling over most of the surfaces; mag bases show minor dings and wear from use, and light oxidation. Holster is in good condition with a few missing stitches on the leather hinge for the top clamshell cover, overall stiffness to the body and component parts, some separation to the laminations on the shoulder strap, a GI's name written on the back side (hard to make out exactly what it reads), extra firing pin inside, and blued cleaning rod. There is some soiling, scuffs, scratches, and wear to the outside of the holster, and minor cracking to the leather retaining tab. Overall, an excellent example in very nice condition. Est.: $800-$1,100. (C&R/PPT)
