BOLT ACTION ASSEMBLED SNIPER RIFLE. Cal. 7.62x54R. S# 82832, located on the left side of the receiver ring; likely done by the importer. The original S# A66697 over the chamber matches the bolt body, buttplate, and floorplate, as well as the electropencil on the scope mount. There is an additional # 4423513 on the left side of the chamber. Bbl. 28 5/8". Import-marked at the bottom of the barrel. This model 91-30 Russian Mosin-Nagant rifle has been fitted with an original PU sniper scope. The bolt has a modified, turned-down handle. Tangent rear sight graduated to 2000 meters. Post-front sight with protective hood. Barrel is marked over the chamber with both the Izhevsk "wreath" and the arrow in a triangle. Bbl. is dated 1943. The round receiver is equipped with a scope base on the left rail. Hardwood stock set with sling slots and two bands retained by springs. A cleaning rod is present. Green web sling with leather collars. The PU scope has a blued steel mount marked with an electropenciled A66697. The scope is marked with a 5-sided star over the hammer and sickle. Serial # matches the left side of the rifle chamber. A boxed "X" and "K.". Pointed post reticle with two crossbars. The ocular lens appears to be a modern replacement with a purple coating. Leather lens caps. CONDITION: stack set has a worn, flaking arsenal rework finish with numerous handling marks. The metal retains a large degree of its arsenal-reworked blue finish with light wear. The scope has what appears to be its original finish, except for the replaced ocular lens. Optics appear cloudy but serviceable. Good, shiny bore with lightly worn lands. (24-1419/RW).
