Cal. 30-06. S# 3700343. Bbl. 24". Smith Corona 3-43 dated with a flaming bomb. Blade front sight. Adjustable aperture rear sight graduated to 800yds. Stock and buttplate appear to be of Smith Corona mfg. Bands are unmarked. Bolt assembly, trigger guard, and mag cutoff are all of Remington mfg. Bolt and stock are matching numbered to receiver, and it is probable this rifle saw post-war Greek service. Parkerized finish. Walnut stock set with bottom-mounted sling swivels and canvas GI sling. Left side of stock has boxed "FJA" and ordnance wheel cartouches. Left side of butt has boxed "RIA/EB" rebuild cartouche. Bottom of wrist has circled "P" firing proof. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: canvas GI muzzle cover marked "U.S." and "TWEEDIE 1944". CONDITION: stock set appears lightly sanded with an added oil finish, a repaired crack behind the tang, some dings, and handling wear. Metal retains 80% arsenal parkerized finish with some light dings on bottom metal, scattered edge wear, and thinning. Action functions properly when hand-cycled. Bright, near excellent bore.
