WWII WALTHER G43 SEMI AUTO RIFLE.
Cal. 8mm Mauser. S#5837n. Bbl. 21 3/4". Blade front sight with protective hood. Tangent rear sight graduated to 1200m. Rifle is also equipped with a ddx-coded ZF4 scope and repro mount. The mount is numbered "4932" and has a "WaA135" marking. Scope rail appears to be grounded to accept the repro mount. Mount lever is loose. Scope has post-reticle and fair optics. Left side of the rear sight base is marked with "G43", serial number, and "ac44", denoting a 1944 Walther mfg. Blued and phosphate finishes. Stamped matching numbers on the bolt carrier and stock. Bolt body is mismatched. Matching electropencil numbers on the locking lugs and firing pin housing. The gas piston has an electropencil number that is hard to read. Piston is also not moving and may require attention to fix. Bolt housing shows heavy wear at the rear and chipping on the grooves. Laminated stock set with left side sling provisions and a black leather sling. Buttstock has a 1" splice repair at the rear, and the left side of the butt has an unusual round brand marking that is likely post-war. Waffenamnts on stock are present but faint and indiscernible. A cleaning rod is present. MAGS: 1-10 rd. repainted and coded "gcb". CONDITION: stock set appears sanded with an added dark finish, a 5" crack ahead of the mag. well, a few other laminate cracks, an added hole ahead of the recoil lug, some chipping around the buttstock repair, scattered dings, and handling wear. Metal has mostly faded to gray with some oxidation, dings, and traces of original finishes. Good-plus, bright bore with some light pitting and frosting but strong rifling.
