Waffen-SS Uniform.
Auction Only Available to USA Residents
M44 field service blouse. Based on the British battle blouse. Waist length. No pocket pleats. Two outer chest pockets and broad waist band, wide open collar. Lining is of a gunmetal-gray herringbone twill material, characteristic of SS rather than the Army's gray rayon linings. (The SS captured this material from the Italians) Mismatched pieces of lining around the waistband. No provisions for belt support hooks. Two large internal chest pockets with no buttons. No visible markings. Similar lining can be found in "Waffen SS Uniforms & Insignia" by Lukacs & Krawcyk. Page 79. 5 button front , 3 plastic buttons hidden by fly, as in assault Gunners tunics, and two exposed green pebbled on the waistband. Couldn't find this exact example, but "Every available cloth was procured for use in manufacture, and changes continued to be implemented on an almost random basis. (Uniforms of the Waffen-SS, by Michael Beaver, Vol. 2) Forrest green in color. Has 4 original awards on blouse. Close Combat Clasp with no color left, made by "FEG W.E. Peekhaus, Berlin". Unmarked Iron Cross first class with magnetic center. Unmarked Panzer Assault badge, and Wound badge in silver with magnetic pin, marked "26" (B.H. Meyer) Two medals are on loops, and two pinned to blouse. One loop and evidence on the nap of an award being there on right pocket, German Cross. Collar tabs are black based with embroidered SS runes in silver/aluminum wire threads. The left tab three alloy rank pips, (SS-Unterstrumfuhrer (2nd Lt.) Both have a twisted silver/aluminum piping to the outside edges. Late war slip-on black based, narrow tongued Lt's shoulder boards piped in lemon yellow for signal troops. Bevo machine woven, machine sewn on blouse. Insignia passed the black light test . but does not match the wear on the rest of the blouse. Could be a late war promotion where NCO's were being promoted to officer's due to the high attrition rate. Included is a pair of "Flared" trousers, field-gray. unbuttoned front pockets, right front fob pocket, and buttoned right rear pocket. Adjustment straps, provisions for suspenders and belt loops. Laced leg cuffs. Herringbone twill internal waist, with a mixture of other internal materials. Not sure if these are SS issue. Very good condition. Black leather "Jack boots" , machine stitched, central, vertical seam to the reverse. Stacked leather heels with steel frames and forward soles. 18" high from heel. Buckle and strap at top of boots. Cloth pull tabs. brown leather seem on the top inside of both boots is ink stamped "41 6 30255 2". Both have a small stamp of "SS" in a circle next to the numbers. These stamps are suspect as I could not find any reference to them. Could be legit. An original Waffen-SS M44, with original medals, the Insignia is in question so please look carefully at the photo's.
