This tanto is unsigned and has 7.25" blade, 10.25" tang tip to blade tip and 12.25" scabbard tip to handle tip. The blade is bright with gently waved hamon temper line and we see no folding flows at all. Blade shows some wear and light discoloration. It has Bo-hi blood groove on one side and double lines on the other side. The tip is good and single edge is sharp with no chips or nicks. The brass habaki has fine muji pattern. The tang has one hole with lriyamagata tang tip and sujikai file marks. Has textbook Shirasaya handle and scabbard and has no tang pin. Also has 20.5" plain cotton storage bag which shows age and wear. The blade is very nice compared with the lower grade tantos that are more often seen.
