This is your opportunity to get a wildlife biologist on your property to devise a one-of-a-kind Habitat Management Plan! WHETSTONE HABITAT specializes in working with landowners to develop and implement management practices that are more sustainable and beneficial for your native wildlife and plant communities. With a degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Management, an NDA Level 2 Deer Steward certificate, and a keen understanding of deer biology and behavior, Zack understands how to fit the pieces of the puzzle together to get the most out of your lands hunting potential!
This auction is for either a Virtual Consultation ($300 value) or $500 off an On-Site Property Evaluation and Written Management Plan.
Virtual Consultation: Includes a zoom call, where we cover the property virtually and discuss how to best achieve your management objectives. After the zoom call, Whetstone Habitat will put together an OnX map displaying the recommendations discussed. This is a safe and economical way to get your property headed in the right direction!
On-Site Property Evaluation: There is no substitute for an on-site evaluation of your property. Before we step foot onto the property, I like to sit down with my clients and discuss their management objectives, so we have some well-defined goals for my visit. This is a great opportunity to discuss the multi-use vision you have for your land or illuminate any shortcomings you may have previously encountered. We will review pictures, videos, and maps during this process while you tell me any stories you have to help paint the complete picture. After our sit down, it’s time to get our boots muddy and hands dirty as we thoroughly cover your beloved property. While we survey the property, I will point out areas of opportunity, and any areas of concern, as well as note where your property is already thriving. This is a wonderful opportunity to ask questions and discuss problems you have run into in years past for existing landowners. This collaboration of information will form the foundation of your management plan. No issue is too big or too small, and I am happy to spend as much time as we need on each area of concern. After the on-site visit is complete, I will create a complete habitat management plan to help you reach your property’s ecological potential. Habitat Plans may include but are not limited to:
- Forest Management
- Herd Management
- Food Plot Recommendations
- Stand Placement
- Trail Camera Surveys
- Bedding Cover
- Early Successional Management
- Supplemental Feeding Programs
- Erosion Control
- Scent Control
- Thermal Cover
- Invasive Species Mitigation
- Access Routes
- Sanctuaries
- Prescribed Fire
- Age Structure
- Old Field Management
- Timber Stand Improvements
The plan On-Site Property Evaluation includes a site visit, a comprehensive written Habitat Management Plan, aerial maps highlighting the management plan, as well as detailed instructions and explanations for the prescribed techniques. Travel costs will be calculated from Nashville, TN.

“As a lifelong outdoorsman, the prospect of owning a sizeable parcel of land where our family and friends would gather and share time seemed like a decades-long dream. Well, dreams do sometimes come true and I can’t begin to tell you how important it was to have engaged Zack Vucurevich to support and partner in one of the biggest decisions we have ever made.
Early in the process of identifying a property, it became clear to me that finding the right parcel was going to require time and an understanding of land types that I didn’t have. Finding a knowledgeable advocate that can work with the right real estate group, was critical. Zack worked with our Whitetail Property agent for over a year to ensure the parcel would fulfill every element we were looking for. His understanding of habitat, timber, and wildlife needs was invaluable.
After purchasing 365 acres in south-central Kentucky, Zack built a habitat management plan that included converting about 35 acres of hayfields into food plots and cover fields as well as timber management and the addition of soft and hard mast tree planting. The wildlife management plan was aimed at improving the whitetail deer and wild turkey populations to improve hunting opportunities on the parcel. Zack’s initial deer survey revealed a resident herd in the mid-teens, buck to doe ratio of about 1 to 3, no bucks over 2.5, and only two fawns. Working on Zack’s habitat improvement plan and herd management recommendations over the past 4 years, the resident herd has more than tripled. The buck to doe ratio improved to nearly 1:1, with more than half of the bucks over 2.5 years old and several over 3.5 years old with antlers in the 140-150 inch scoring range. Fawn recruitment rates have also increased dramatically. Turkey populations have also exploded providing excellent hunting opportunities as well.
With Zack’s guidance and unwavering commitment to helping us meet our goals, the property today is a dream come true, exceeding expectations in every way. He is incredibly knowledgeable, a consummate professional, and committed to his clients. I would not hesitate to recommend Zack Vucurevich to anyone in need of similar services. He is simply the very best!”
