SN: 965205 WWII US Government purchase pump action shotgun circa 1943, with bayonet. Features 20" barrel, 2-3/4" chamber, CYL choke, heat shield and bayonet lug assembly with brass bead front sight, manual safety, tube magazine, sling swivels. walnut stocks with grooved pump handle, smooth shoulder stock with factory synthetic butt plate. Bore is very bright, polished. High polish re-blued finish covers 95% of metal surfaces, with scratches & edge losses, minor losses to original contours. Wood is re-finished with a tung-oil type product, overall very good condition, with some contour loss where sharp corners fit against receiver. Buttplate looks almost like new. Flat sides of receiver show some old tiny pits under refinish, as well as other blemishes retained. Some light patina forming on right side. Dings to sharp edges of receiver extension. Screw slots are generally crisp. Mag tube is four hole type, proper for the M12 "riot gun". Heat shield (unmarked, steel) has 4 rows of 19 holes, no Markings are sharp, with some minor edge losses, serial numbers (matching on receiver & extension) showing the most loss (still readable). Barrel marked "CYL" for choke, with small flaming bomb at top center rear. "43" visible under barrel. Receiver right is marked "US" with flaming bomb. Left side of butt marked "GHD" in box, over Ordnance crossed cannon cartouche. Markings on receiver side and on butt are crisp & sharp. The 17" bladed bayonet is very good condition, marked "US / (flaming bomb)" and "1917 / Remington". Bayonet appears refinished with replacement scales. Serial number is in the correct range.
