Winchester Model 1886 lever action rifle, 45-70 cal., serial #99827. The rifle is in very good overall condition with a 26” octagon barrel. The barrel and magazine retain approximately 70% of their muted blue finish with the remainder goingto a plum patina. The barrel shows sharp, crisp edges with high point edge wear and a loss of finish at the muzzle. The receiver shows primarily silvery toning case color as do the lever and hammer. The rifle has had a newer tangsight and sling swivels added. The smooth wood stocks are in very good condition showing small mars consistent with field use. The butt stock ends with a smooth, metal crescent butt plate. The bore is very good, the action crisp andmarkings are sharp. A most acceptable 1886 Winchester in a great caliber.
