Winchester Model 1886 lever action rifle, 45-70 caliber, serial #115123. The rifle is overall very good to nearly fine condition with a 26” blued octagon barrel, elevator rear sight and case hardened receiver. The barrel and magazine retain approximately 60-70% of their original blued finish and sharp edges with some slight surface rust and freckling. The receiver still shows small amounts of case coloring in the protected areas with the balance becoming a silver tone. There is light surface erosion and rust present on the right side and underside of the action. The smooth wood stocks show small mars, dents and compressions consistent with use but are otherwise in good condition. The buttstock ends with a metal, crescent buttplate showing some light surface rust. Additional information provided by the consignor indicates the rifle was manufactured in 1898 making it an antique. The bore is good, action crisp and markings are sharp on this most desirable Winchester. Est.: $4,000-$8,000.
