Winchester Model 1894 Saddle Ring Carbine, #188401, .30 WCF cal., 20'' barrel, half magazine, blue finish, straight grip walnut stock, smooth steel shotgun butt, with saddle ring. Rifle also features an ivory bead blade front sight pinned to a fixed base and an adjustable carbine rear sight. Top of barrel between the band and rear sight is marked in two-lines ''MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. / -NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A. PAT. AUG. 21. 1894-''; top near the chamber ''30 W.C.F.'' Upper tang is marked in three-lines ''MODEL 1894 / -WINCHESTER- / PAT. AUG. 21. 1894''. Mfg'd in 1900. Condition is very good. Approx. 93%-95% lightly thinning original blue remains on the barrel; bottom edge in front of the mag. tube with a .75'' long scratch; address is clear. Receiver and lever with approx. 65%-70% original dark blue finish; buttplate with little blue finish and a darkening patina; barrel band shows thinning and wear. Upper tang stamp is clear and well defined. Wood with a small amount of moderate dents and scratches, both with an added coat of oil, a small amount which has gotten on the tang and buttplate. Bore is excellent for its age with a smooth crisp action. Est.: $800-$1,200. (C&R)
