Winchester Model 1895 lever action rifle, 40-72 W.C.F. cal., serial #34777. The rifle is in fine to nearly excellent overall condition with a 28” round barrel. The barrel retains nearly all of its toning blue finish with a Lyman folding frontsight and receiver sights. The rear sight has had the dovetail filled. The receiver retains the majority of its blued finish with light surface rust and high point edge wear noted. The hammer and trigger show muted case color as well. Thesmooth wood stocks are in very good to nearly excellent condition as well with only minor handling marks noted. The butt stock ends with a metal, crescent butt plate. The bore is very good, the action is crisp and markings sharp onthis desirable Winchester which is rarely encountered in this caliber. A Winchester factory letter in included confirming the characteristics and noting the rifle was received in the warehouse and shipped in 1902. Est.:$3,500-$7,000. (C+R).
