* Winchester Model 70 bolt action rifle, 30/06 cal., serial #47876. The rifle is in overall very good condition with a 24” blued barrel. The barrel and receiver retain the majority of their blued finish with some loss of finish and surface rust present on the magazine base plate. The ramp front sight remains, while the rear sight has been removed and the dovetail filled with a plug. The checkered wood stock is in overall very good condition with some small mars, compressions and scrapes consistent with field use. The rifle ends with a checkered steel butt plate showing significant blue finish and includes a period leather sling. The rifle is topped with Bausch and Lomb adjustable proprietary scope mounts. The bore is good, the action is crisp and markings sharp. Manufactured in 1942, this Model 70 remains a classic manufactured during the second world war. Est.: $600-$1,200.
