Wolf in Macedonia: North Macedonia's rugged, mountainous landscape has mirrored its turbulent history, witnessing the rise and fall of empires and the struggle of its people for independence, marked by conflict, occupation, and a complex journey towards nationhood.
With terrain more mountainous than Switzerland, North Macedonia’s rugged terrain, characterized by towering mountains and deep valleys, provides an ideal habitat for wolves. These apex predators pose a significant threat to livestock, particularly in remote pastoral areas, where they prey on sheep, goats, and cattle. Because of their significant population and habits, wolf hunting is both legal and popular in North Macedonia.
This adventure is a six night, three hunting day, and two tour day trip for two hunters or one hunter and one observer for the Macedonian wolf. Wolf hunting in Macedonia is usually successful because of the extremely high concentration of wolves. The hunt is conducted at night from blinds. A driven daytime hunt can be arranged at additional cost if desired. While the success rate on this hunt is 90%, the trophy fee is not included and is paid separately. Optimal dates in November - February, 2025 or 2026.
Trip includes: 6 nights, 3 hunting nights, 2 tourism days, hunting organization, assistance for settlement of customs formalities at Skopje airport in arrival and departure, use of 4x4 vehicle during the stay (2 hunters with one vehicle), lodging and full board in 3-4*** hotels or hunting lodges, assistance of professional hunter and local gamekeepers, field preparation of trophies.
Not included: Airfare tickets, wolf trophy fee 2.950 US$, rent a rifle with ammo 150 US$ for hunt, VAT 18% (be added on donation value and total bill), Macedonian hunting license 100 US$, official measurement 35 US$ per trophy, cape 100 US$, single 4x4 vehicle for hunt 200 US$ per day, CITES permit for each wolf 500 US$, packing, export documentation and sending of trophies, tips, drinks and gratuities.
Optional extra costs:
Extra hunter for this hunt 4.100 US$, extra observer for this hunt 2.500 US$.
Extra hunting day 550 US$, extra observer day 350 US$.
Daily organization for small driven wolf hunt 950 US$.
