Wood and glass display case with ribbons & medals of Thomas Ward who served in WW I and WW II; with photo copy of his history and picture. In summary, Ward was born in 1899 and died in 1988. In 1916, when only 16 years old, he joined the Canadian Army resulting in his involvement in front line battlefield service in France for more than 2 years. Less than a week prior to Armistice Day in 1918, Tom received a severe shrapnel wound in hisleft leg. He returned home at the end of 1919 after lengthy hospitalization. He resumed his civilian life until the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. Although disabled, he was able to talk his way into a clerical position in the United States with the U.S.M.C. in the Southwest Pacific Theater of War and remained in the assignment until the Japanese surrender.
