World War II Japanese soldier’s personal knife. According to the consignor’s notes, the knife was recovered from, “Bloody Hill” during the battle of Guadalcanal, September 12-14, 1942. The knife is in good overallcondition with an 8 ½” blade and overall length of 12 ¾”. The blade shows surface erosion and sharpening and an overall grey patina. The black composite handle has, “GUADALCANAL BLOODY HILL SEP. 12-14 1942”etched into the handle with three brass rivets. The scabbard is fashioned from leather and brass with wire. The scabbard is in good condition with a handmade look. This is a great WWII bring back from one ofthe most famous battles in the Pacific theater, from the Gil Newton Collection. Est.: $150-$300.
