Shawn Raymond of Yukon Big Game Outfitters has really stepped up to
the plate for us at Manitoba SCI. He has donated an inland Grizzly bear
hunt for the spring of 2022 or 2023, or the fall of 2023. Open dates to be
confirmed with Shawn for spring hunt, between May 10 and June 15th, and
if fall chosen, the hunt will be around Aug 25th. This will be a 10 day hunt on
horseback, Argo or backpack. 1 guide to 1 hunter. If you are the high bidder and choose the Fall 2023 hunt, then you may add a caribou and/or moose for a trophy fee of 15,000 cdn.
Luxury accommodations will be heated tents, in the remote back country.
Shawn has taken 49 Grizzly bears in the last 8 years. The hunt will be
conducted in Shawn’s massive area (largest in the Yukon). Charter flight to
be taken if Fall hunt is chosen. Round trip charter is $2500.00 Canadian.
Once the bear has been spotted, you stalk in close for a shot.
This method is very exciting, as you are closing the distance, on North
America meanest predator. Dates to be confirmed with outfitter. You will be
allowed to harvest 1 Grizzly bear, and there also is a possibility of wolf or
wolverine. Shawn has one of the highest success rates on Grizzly in the
Yukon. The Yukon is the only place in Canada were you are allowed to hunt
grizzly bear, with Alaska being the other place.
License and tags are extra at $260CAD, as well as government trophy fees of
$750CAD for a Sow or $500CAD for a Boar, plus GST. All lodging and food is
included in the hunt, and Shawn’s guides are some of the best.
Please give Shawn a call to discuss this hunt, and make plans to be in the Yukon
in the spring , or the fall, for an adventure of a life time. Other hunters can be
along at regular rates, but you will be in different camps. Shawn also guides for
Alaska-Yukon moose, mountain caribou, stone sheep, wolves and wolverine.
Shawn can give you all the information on those hunts if you want to experience
the Yukon’s wilderness.
Johnny Fidler hunted with Shawn this past fall, and got an excellent
moose, and got in on one of the largest inland Grizzlies the guide had ever
seen, but unfortunately, he was a she, and had a cub with. Things happen.
Experiencing the Yukon was on the bucket list, and it did not disappoint.
Grizzly Bear hunting is one of the last true Wilderness hunting that can be
had. Bid high on this hunt, you will not regret it.

1. Upgrading your hunt, while not required, is certainly appreciated by our donors. If you do not want to add another animal, consider bringing along a friend. This really helps out these outfitters and hunting companies that are trying to help us! With few exceptions, these donors are not wealthy philanthropists, but rather they donate to help wildlife, ensure the future of our sport, and generate new business for themselves. Please do what you can to help!
2. We do our best to solicit donated hunts only from competent outfitters. However, we do not guarantee the quality or success of any hunt purchased at this auction. All of this said, it is important to note that hunts purchased at our auction generally go very well, with both the donor and the buyer being well satisfied. Certain trips such as mountain hunts or spot and stalk hunts require a high level of physical fitness to maximize the opportunity for success. Other trips, such as game ranch hunts, are not physically demanding.
