Civil War Era 1860's Smith & Wesson Model No. 2 Army .32 Rimfire Single Action Revolver
Manufactured in mid 1860's. This Civil War era revolver features a 6" solid ribbed octagon barrel with brass blade front sight and rear notch. Top of the barrel is stamped "SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD MASS". Single action tip-up barrel with removeable cylinder, fixed ejector rod, cylinder stop on the top strap and spur trigger. Six-round cylinder chambered for .32 RF, patent dates stamped on the cylinder are nearly worn and illegible. These were very popular sidearms during the Civil War and by western gunslingers such as "Wild Bill" Hickok. Serial numbers under 35,731 have a high probability of being a side arm to soldiers during the Civil War. CALIBER: 32 RF. S/N: 39170. FFL STATUS: Antique.
CONDITION
Finish is now into "the white". Does show a few scratches in the metal most notably at the hinge and on the cylinder. Some screws are marred. Grips show some light dings and scratches. Bottom of the left grip has the initials "TS" hand scribed. Dark bore but great mechanics. Great historical piece!
