12 bore (.72 caliber), 13.75" octagonal to round barrel with two wedding bands, NSN. Bright finish with walnut full stock secured by pins.  Faceted lock with flat swan-neck cock and rounded iron pan with fence and bridle, fitted with roller. Lockplate marked "PHILADELPHIA". Brass ramrod pipes, sideplate, thumb piece, and butt. 1,000 of these pistols were produced by the team of New London Master Armorer Joseph Perkins and Philadelphia lock maker Joseph Goulcher at the behest Major Samuel Hogden, Superintendent of Military Stores in Virginia. **Very good condition overall.  Barrel shows some oxidation and staining. Stock shows some handling marks and blemishes along with some old stable cracks along lockplate. Most of the original varnish remaining. Action is mostly functional with a somewhat worn frizzen spring.** $6,000-$9,000
