Shane Johnston, the esteemed owner and outfitter of Four Seasons Safaris New Zealand, invites two hunters to embark on an unforgettable 5-day/4-night hunting adventure on New Zealand's South Island. A long-time HSC donor and exhibitor, HSC's 2013 Professional Hunter of the Year, SCI Life Member, and DSC's 2007 Outfitter of the Year, Shane Johnston offers an unparalleled experience that spans from the majestic Seward Mountains to the vast Pacific Ocean. This package includes the opportunity to hunt Red Stag, South Pacific Arapawa Ram, Alpine Goat, and Chamois, with trophy fees for a representative Arapawa Ram and an Alpine Goat for each hunter, as well as a Chamois for each hunter, and a $1,000 credit per hunter toward their Red Stag. The method of take is flexible, with options for rifle, bow, or muzzleloader. In addition to the exceptional hunting opportunities, participants will enjoy a quintessential Kiwi style beachside dining experience, complete with New Zealand beers, wines, live music, and entertainment, all while dipping their feet into the Pacific Ocean. This hunt is available for open dates from February to August in either 2025 or 2026, with options to upgrade by adding days or pursuing other available species at current prices. Additional hunters and non-hunters are welcome according to the current price list. Transportation during the hunt is provided by a 4x4 side-by-side vehicle, allowing hunters to pursue stag, ram, and goat in the same exclusive location. Chamois hunting takes place in the alps, where helicopter transport is required due to the lack of road access. The cost of flight time is the responsibility of the hunters. Four Seasons Safaris New Zealand boasts its own private hunting area, "Backridge Estate," renowned for its exceptional trophy animals, with some of the best genetics found in the South Pacific. The hunt takes place near Kaikoura, a picturesque town on the East Coast of the South Island, overlooking the Pacific Ocean, where excellent lobster diving and fishing opportunities abound. The hunting experience is spot-and-stalk, with numerous 4x4 tracks providing access to areas rich in game, including red stag, elk, fallow deer, white stag, goat, Arapawa ram, and boar. Tahr and Chamois are also available nearby. This hunt package includes trophy fees for two chamois, two rams, two goats, and a $1,000 credit per hunter toward two red stags. Additional inclusions are field preparation, transportation to the shipper, transfers from Christchurch (within 5 days), comfortable ranch-style accommodations, home-style country cuisine, and refreshments, including New Zealand beer and wine. Please note that airfare to and from Christchurch, accommodations before and after the hunt, additional species hunted, balance of stag fee (red stag starting at $9,500), helicopter fees ($2,600/hour), firearm rental, dip-pack service, and gratuities are not included in this package. Additionally, this hunt cannot be combined with any other New Zealand hunting safari or a safari already booked with Four Seasons Safaris New Zealand.
