1928A1 CURIO SUBMACHINE GUN. Cal. 45 ACP. S# S-375106. Bbl. 10 1/2". Classic Thompson SMG US Model 1928 A1 mfg. by Auto-Ordnance in Bridgeport, CT. 28 Rib finned bbl. Terminated w/ Cutts compensator marked w/ Thompson bullet logo, Cutts logo, “Auto-Ordnance Corporation” & patent dates. Horizontal wood fore arm. Front blade sight integral w/ compensator & rear is adj. Lyman graduated sight. Hardwood, rear stock w/ trapdoor buttplate. Sling swivels at 6-O’clock front and rear. Slotted top mounted cocking knob. Blued finish on exposed metal surfaces. Left side receiver markings are as follows: Ordnance ‘Flaming Bomb’ & Inspectors marks “GEG” & "RLL" indicating that it was inspected by George E. Goll, Auto-Ordnance's chief inspector and Army Inspector of Ordnance Ray L. Bowlin. “U.S. Model of 1928 A1”, “Thompson Submachine Gun”, “Calibre 45 Automatic Cartridge”. Right side markings include patent block on rear of receiver and “Auto-Ordnance Corporation”, “Bridgeport Connecticut, U.S.A.”. Trigger frame serial number S-375106, matching receiver, also bearing "GEG" acceptance mark. MAGS: 1 SEYMOUR 30 RD. CONDITION: finish on exposed metal surfaces evenly worn to a faded brown with some areas faded to gray. All original markings are easy to read with the exception of some uneven inspectors marks as normal. Wood furniture is dark and has a few period typical depressions. 1 very small chip on bottom of shoulder stock at front mounting screw. Dark matching finish on all wood surfaces, appearing to retain strong structural integrity. Bright bore with strong rifling. Fire control mechanism appears to function correctly when cycled by hand.
