PISTOL WITH POST-WAR HOLSTER. Cal. 9x19mm Parabellum. S# 6458s. Bbl. 4 7/8". P.38 semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Spreewerke during World War II. Left side of the slide is marked "P.38", followed by Spreewerke's "cyq" mfg. code, and the S#. Right side of the slide is stamped with an Eagle/88 above a star rework proof, followed by "H P", 2 additional Eagle/88 proofs, and an eagle firing proof. Right side of the frame is marked with an additional unidentified "HP" stamp. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall. Frame is mounted with 2-piece dark brown grooved pressed resin grips. Standard blade front sight and U-notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, slide, bbl., and locking block. MAGS: 1 8-rd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: post-war black leather holster marked "12-120-0169/ B. MEYER GRONAU" on the rear. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original arsenal blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning that show through to gray patina, with some scattered spots of light surface oxidation and pitting present overall. Bore exhibits consistent mild to moderate pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Safety lever decocker functions appropriately when cycled by hand. Grips are very good, showing some scattered superficial handling marks overall. Holster remains malleable, exhibiting wear, with areas of light age related cracking overall. (25-521/MLW).
