SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 9mm. S# 8296k. Bbl. 4 7/8". P.38 semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Walther for the German military in 1943. Left side of the slide is marked "P.38", followed by Walther's mfg. code and the 2-digit year of mfg. "ac/ 43" and the S#, with Walther Eagle/359 proofs marked on the right. Metal components exhibit a salt blue finish overall. Frame is mounted with 2-piece aftermarket checkered wood grips. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, slide, bbl., and locking block. MAGS: 8-rd. CONDITION: good, with metal components retaining large amounts of their original arsenal blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning that show through to gray patina, as well as scattered areas of light to mild pitting and surface oxidation. Dark pitted bore, retaining strong rifling throughout. Grips are good, showing some smoothing to the checkering and some scattered superficial marks from handling and storage, with the left panel exhibiting a large chip at the top right corner.
